Busy. Par.ked at the farm a mile from the cove for ยฃ4 before taking the leisurly stroll to the cove itself. Lovely weather made the trip perfect but very busy in terms of walkers and climbers on the cove face somewhat spoiling the view. Better go on midweek days when less people are vying for pictures or abseiling routes.

Gordale Scar Campsite is slightly out of Malham but is well-located to explore Gordale Scar and Janet's Foss. Additionally, you can take an alternative route to the cove avoiding the most popular trail. In Malham, Riverside Campsite Malham is the closest to the cove at the top of the village.

Our campsite includes six acres of woodland, which has various wildlife and wild flowers. Located just a few miles from Malham, the local footpaths around Wood Nook give a wonderful views of Upper Wharfedale and Malhamdale. Malham Cove, Kilnsey Crag, Malham Tarn, Linton Falls, Janet's Foss, Gordale Scar and Buckden Pike are all close by.

The walk round to Janet's Foss, up Gordale Scar waterfall and then back over Malham Cove is one of my favourites (3 to 4 hours). There is also a fantastic walk to Settle along Stockwell Lane. Over 12 miles round trip and up and over the moor. Malham gets very busy at weekends but this is still one of my favourite campsites because of the location.

But, it's difficult to find a more beautiful limestone attraction than Malham Cove. In particular, the limestone pavement above the cove is unique and special.

Admire the curved cliffs before strolling along the limestone paving and stop by Janet's Foss for a picnic by the cascading waterfall.
